Generally speaking, the personalization process, with all that that entails, is expensive, even if you end up with a bike to remember.

But there are times when some people prove that you don’t have to spend a fortune to design the perfect (subjective) construct. A build that lacks flashy paint and graphics, air suspension or who knows what else, but still manages to stand out in a crowd.

The Midnight Soul, as the old Breakout we have here is called, is one of those versions. This is one of the most recent projects to come out of the German Thunderbike garage, and it’s a beauty in its simplicity.

Wrapped in unpretentious black, the Soul has been lowered by means of a special kit and now sits on custom wheels, with the rear wheel 260mm wide, slightly larger than the original one on the bike.

There are about 20 pieces that went into this build, most of them aren’t extreme enough to be the expensive type. The most expensive items, because that’s right, we have them too, are the in-house made fuel tank and the pulley brake kit.

The full list of coins used for Midnight Soul comes in at 9,400 euros in European currency, which would be $ 10,600 at today’s exchange rates, plus or minus. Of course, this does not include the base bike, working hours and not even the Dr. Jekill & Mr. Hyde exhaust that the bike was equipped with.

Then again, none of the many Thunderbike versions we’ve covered so far included them, but even so, almost all of them were much more expensive than the one we have here.

Jeff Hardy claims match with WWE legend ‘did wonders’ for his career https://bike-pix.com/jeff-hardy-claims-match-with-wwe-legend-did-wonders-for-his-career/ Wed, 24 Nov 2021 12:32:20 +0000 https://bike-pix.com/jeff-hardy-claims-match-with-wwe-legend-did-wonders-for-his-career/

In a recent discussion with talk about sport, ‘The Charismatic Enigma’ Jeff Hardy looked back on one of his defining matches for his career as a singles competitor – his WWE Championship ladder match against The Undertaker on July 1, 2002 in the episode of BELIEVED.

“It was weird because the ladders were like, my thing back then, my big thing from other TLC games and so on,” Hardy explained. “So for ‘Taker, doing that for me was just huge for me in general, especially for my solo career without Matt. It has done wonders for me.

Although he did not win the WWE Championship on this occasion, the match established Jeff Hardy as a singles contender so that one day he won that title. For whatever ‘Taker threw at the rising player, Hardy kept fighting until the very end.

“Just preparing spots with the Undertaker… One of my fondest memories was riding his Harley. [Davidson] over there and pretending I was doing a nac nac on a dirt bike. And it pissed him off and he came after me, ”recalls Jeff with a laugh.

“The whole story of the underdog versus man and legend, but he couldn’t keep the underdog down no matter what he did to me. And then the nod of respect at the end, and I collapse as RAW comes off the air with me looking at my hand like ‘did this really just happen?’ It was a miracle.

The high-flying daredevil remembers the audience and the people behind the scenes being happy with the match he hosted with The Undertaker.

“Yes, everyone was very happy. I don’t know if we got the standing ovation, I think we maybe got it, but everyone was very happy with the game and it was well deserved.

At last sunday’s WWE Survivor Series, Jeff Hardy was the last survivor of the Smack down 5-man team, but he ultimately lost to BELIEVEDby Seth Rollins.

‘Build back better’ law will give electric motorcyclists 30% tax relief https://bike-pix.com/build-back-better-law-will-give-electric-motorcyclists-30-tax-relief/ Mon, 22 Nov 2021 20:43:24 +0000 https://bike-pix.com/build-back-better-law-will-give-electric-motorcyclists-30-tax-relief/

Over the weeks, I have noticed a trend among good wBW readers.

You love or hate electric motorcycles.

And for those of you who love them, there’s always a high MSRP to complain about.

It’s not that we blame you – Spending $ 21,999 on Harley-Davidson’s LiveWire One at a time when technology advances at the speed of light is insane, and we commend you for that.

For this purpose, we are about to enter the legislature of the Federal Government of the United States – because if Jalopnik Americans are right on the verge of getting huge tax relief on their electric motorcycles, and at this point any type of credit would be fine.

The report says the “Build Back Better” law was overhauled and edited for months by Congress, with relief only erupting last Friday when a version of the bill was finally passed.

A view of the US Congress

The decree of the bill? As of Friday, November 19, a 30% tax credit for electric bikes and electric motorcycles will be considered, although the report says the credit caps at $ 1,500 for electric bikes and $ 7,500 for electric bikes. electric motorcycles.

“The credits are fully refundable, which means you don’t need $ 7,500 in taxes to get $ 7,500 in returns, but they are limited by income – the credit starts to disappear once you earn.” over $ 75,000 per year. Both of these stipulations point to a credit specifically designed to make electric vehicles accessible to low-income people, an admirable effort to be undertaken by Congress. “

zero motorcycle driving for modeling purposes

Keep in mind that just because a bill is passed does not mean that it has been approved. They still have a long way to go through the Senate and the President’s office before they become law – but we can hope.

We will keep our ears low for you on this story; in the meantime, leave a comment below – we read them all and love to hear from you.

Also, be sure to familiarize yourself with the new bikes that will be showcased at EICMA tomorrow and, as always, stay safe on the turns.

Ellenton native Kelly BK Keenan, with a variety of skills at her disposal, has a collection of seven decades of Harley-Davidson motorcycles and related memorabilia on November 2, 2021, in New Ellenton, SC. he calls it, is housed in an old bank building, with an arch in the back. The Motorcycle Menagerie includes a fleet of motorcycles, armfuls of trophies, and hundreds of magazines, photos, trophies, clothing and other accessories dating back to at least the 1940s. (Bill Bengtson / The Aiken Standard via AP)

Kelly “BK” Keenan speaks the language of hanger monkeys, softails, knuckleheads and choppers, and can draw on decades of experience when embarking on a road trip or striking up a Harley-Davidson-themed conversation and miles between New Ellenton and destinations such as Daytona Beach, Florida, and Sturgis, South Dakota.

“Harley’s personal stuff,” as he calls it, is housed in an old bank, with a safe in the back, all just yards from New Ellenton’s only traffic light, on George Avenue and North. Main Street.

The Motorcycle Menagerie includes a fleet of motorcycles, armfuls of trophies, and hundreds of magazines, photos, trophies, clothing and other accessories dating back to at least the 1940s.

The oldest ‘bicycle’ dates from 1940 and the most recent from 2006. Creations, whether raised from obscurity in a barn or purchased from a traditional merchant, have names such as Betsy, Half-Breed ( “A 1947-1950 ″), Hog-Iron, Big Bird and spare parts. Some are heavily personalized and others have their original anatomy. Some have found themselves in the media spotlight.

Red, white and blue, accompanied by stars and stripes in American and Confederate styles, are easy to spot in Keenan’s collection and humor is part of the package. One specimen has a silver pig, hood ornament style, placed on the front fender. Another has a message painted on the back: “White trash … with money.” “

“I don’t really call it a museum,” said the 62-year-old businessman. “I call it a see-through room, and… you’d be surprised at the few people who’ve been there before and watched, just because it’s hardly ever open, but I’m always there, and It doesn’t. don’t mind showing it to anyone, because I like people to see what we have here.

“I was born and raised here,” he recalls, noting that he still lives in the house where he was raised, with two brothers and two sisters among his closest company. “I make motorcycles and I make old cars.”

Keenan has traveled many miles over the decades, crossing the country to witness biker rallies, swap meets and other events, and one of his first big trips had nothing to do with the motorcycles because he got in trouble as a young man and instead of going to high school I headed to Dodge City, Kansas for work.

“I had a friend who had an aunt there who owned a restaurant … Her husband was a farmer … so three days a week one of us was doing the dishes and the other was loading hay, and It turned around. The other two days you traded jobs, “he recalls.” Someone came to the restaurant when I was there and said, ‘We’re looking for thugs.’ “

Keenan, at that time in the late 1970s, was unfamiliar with the term, which traditionally refers to a worker on an oil rig.

“He said, ‘It pays $ 7.20 an hour, and we work seven days a week, 12-hour shifts.’ I said, “I’m a thug,” so my boyfriend and I went to work in the oil fields … and I worked there for about three years, and we went through Kansas, Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico.

Keenan has revisited the oil and gas country over the decades, he recalled. “A lot of my friends, I’ve brought back over the years, and some of them have stayed forever … but I’m coming back, and I went to work in construction with my brothers.”

He and his wife, Jackie, can now have some more free time together as she retired from her job at the Savannah River site at the end of October. “She worked at the factory for 31 years and we’ve been married for 36 years,” Keenan recalls, noting that their family tree now includes a daughter, three grandsons and a great-grandson.

As a native of New Ellenton, he still has a pretty good idea of who’s who. “Everyone who was actually from New Ellenton, I know them roughly, or I know them. Until the late ’80s, everyone was pretty much from New Ellenton, and then everyone started moving in, moving out.

His favorite motorcycle maker dates back to 1903 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where four young men – one Harley and three Davidsons – “started a cultural wildfire that would grow and spread across geographies and generations,” as described on the Harley-Davidson website.

He adds, “Their innovation and imagination for what was possible on two wheels sparked a transportation revolution and a lifestyle that would make Harley-Davidson the most desirable motorcycle brand in the world.

STURGIS – Buy local. Buy small. Buy Sturgis.

This is the theme of this year’s holiday shopping at Sturgis.

Shopping local shows businesses that you support them in what they do and their contributions to the community, said Amanda Anglin, General Manager of Economic Development at Sturgis.

The Sturgis Downtown Foundation and the Sturgis Area Chamber of Commerce are encouraging people to buy local this holiday season.

The Downtown Foundation launched its 4th annual Downtown Sturgis Holiday Giveaway competition in early November and it will run until December 1.

People can stop by any of the 30 participating Sturgis businesses to participate and win up to $ 3,000 in gift certificates. The prize draw will take place on December 2.

New this year, the foundation will award two grand prizes worth $ 500 each. Winners will receive an overnight stay at the Sturgis Hotel, as well as gift cards to restaurants and stores of their choice.

People can enter more than once. The more you shop, the more entries you have for the prizes, Anglin said

“Stop by one of the participating businesses, buy something, drop an entree in the bucket and maybe you could win,” she said.

Here are the participating companies this year: Black Hills Rally & Gold, Inc., Corner Pantry, Domino’s Pizza, Emma’s Ice Cream Emporium, Gold Pan Pizza, Heartland Homestore, Hot Leathers Sturgis, Just For Looks Boutique, Loud American Roadhouse, New To You Fashions & Treasures, Oasis Bar & Fireside Lounge, Prairie Emporium, Rockingtree Floral, Rosini Gypsy Tour Tattooing, Sturgis Harley-Davidson, Sturgis Leathers, Sturgis Motorcycle Museum & Hall of Fame, Sturgis Photo & Gifts, Sturgis Strikers, The Hotel Sturgis, The Knuckle Saloon, The Knuckle Brewing Company, The Tattoo Cellar, Tom’s T’s, Total E’Clips Salon, Uncle Louies, Unique to Antique, White Canvas Art Co., Workhorse Nutrition and Xtreme Dakota Bicycles.

Additionally, the Sturgis Region Chamber of Commerce is encouraging people to buy locally, especially on this year’s Small Business Saturday, November 27.

“While we encourage you to buy local every day, Small Business Saturday is a great day to start. Our stores will have specials, snacks and drinks, freebies and more, ”said Veronica Grosek, Executive Director of the Sturgis Region Chamber of Commerce.

Anglin and Grosek both challenge community members to fill at least 90% of their holiday shopping list or holiday shopping budget locally.

“Next time you open that Amazon app, think twice – most of the items you’re looking for are right here at Sturgis,” Grosek said.

Supporting small businesses can pay big dividends for everyone, she said.

“Local Shopping supports stores that genuinely care about our city. Local stores are donating to our football teams, our after-party night, the city’s new bike park, our local nonprofits… the list goes on, ”said Grosek. “When was the last time a big box store or remote online retailer did this? Say thank you to our stores by giving them your business.

Bob Davis, owner of Sturgis Photo and Gifts, said local businesses are the cog that keeps the community running and growing successfully.

“We have things in our store that you can’t even find on the internet. If people want interesting and unique items, we have a whole store of them, ”he said. “We also provide excellent customer service and if there is a problem down the road, we’re here to take care of it. “

The Harley davidson Sportster also referred to as “XL” is a line of Harley-Davidson motorcycles which have been in continuous production since 1957. Successor to the K model, the Sportster, when introduced, featured an overhead valve engine derived from its predecessor. In addition, the introductory model adopted several features of the Harley-Davidson KH model, including the front suspension, frame, fenders and large gas tank. The series has since been built in various magnificent models including the very famous Nightster, Forty-Eight and Roadster, among others.

However, due to stricter Euro 5 emissions standards, the original Sportster range was discontinued in Europe in 2020. As a result, a brand new model called “Sportster S”, powered by a Revolution Max engine was introduced in 2021 Nonetheless, regardless of its stoppage, the original Sportster survives. Some vintage and more modern examples of the original Sportster were deemed worthy of modification, and these extremely talented stores have built the most magnificent examples we’ve seen.
