Ceres CA Harley-Davidson rider killed in Fresno crash

Details of a fatal collision involving a Harley-Davidson and a Toyota Corolla were released by the California Highway Patrol on Sunday.

The crash happened around 7:30 p.m. Friday on southbound Highway 99 north of Shaw Avenue in Fresno. The CHP said the motorcyclist, from Ceres, was in the left lane when he failed to notice an obstacle in the roadway and ran over the object.

The 29-year-old was ejected from the motorcycle and landed in the right lane. He was hit by the Toyota, driven by a 28-year-old woman from Fresno.

The motorcyclist was transported to the Community Regional Medical Center, where he died of his injuries. The other driver was not injured.

It was unclear whether alcohol or drugs were a factor, pending a toxicology report which normally takes several weeks, but the CHP said the Toyota driver “had no signs of impairment”.
