Honda CB500X price reduced in India

Honda CB500X price in India has been reduced

The Honda CB500X was launched in India last year, but the bike doesn’t seem to be garnering as many sales as the Japanese two-wheeler maker might have originally hoped. According to figures released by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), Honda sold only 18 units of the CB500X in India last month and a total of 73 units of the motorcycle were sold between April 2021 and January 2022. For reference, the CB500X was launched in India in March 2021. But things are expected to change now given that the CB500X has received a major price drop in the country. The price of Honda CB500X in India has been reduced to ₹5,79,952 from ₹6,87,386. This means the mid-weight ADV is now cheaper by ₹107,434 which is a substantial price drop and should attract more sales. This means that the CB500X is now also significantly cheaper than the Kawasaki Versys 650 which costs ₹7.15 lakh and the Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT which will set you back ₹8.84 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi. It should be noted that this price reduction is only valid for a limited time. So if you were thinking of buying the CB500X, now seems to be the right time for it.

The Honda CB500X may look like a true off-roader, but it’s an adventure tourer, and that becomes apparent by the lack of a skid plate to protect the skid pan in rough terrain. However, the 830mm seat height, set-back footpegs and high but angled handlebars help riders maintain an upright position even on long rides.

Honda CB500X: Top five things about this adventure tourer

The CB500X has a 471cc twin-cylinder engine that develops 47hp at 8,500rpm and 43Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm. This powertrain is mated to a six-speed transmission with power assist and a slipper clutch. The bike’s suspension duties are provided by 41mm telescopic forks and a Prolink shock absorber with spring preload adjustment while stopping force comes from 310mm front and 240mm rear disc brakes with ABS dual channel.
