– Honda Airblade 160 launched in Vietnam
– Gets a new engine and a new design
– Unlikely to launch in India
Honda launched the next generation Airblade 160 scooter in Vietnam and updated it with some significant changes.
For starters, Honda’s Yamaha Aerox 155-rival is now powered by a 160cc engine borrowed from the Vario 160, which is also sold internationally. This engine pumps out 15.2hp and 14.2Nm, which is slightly more than what the Aerox 155 offers. Additionally, Honda also claims to have revamped the frame, making it lighter. This also resulted in a larger trunk which now has a capacity of 23.2 litres.
The underseat is said to be enough for two half-face helmets and comes with a USB charger as standard. Along with this feature, the Honda Airblade 160 brochure also lists a digital instrument cluster and smart key, as well as single-channel ABS.
Also in terms of design, the scooter has been refined. It now sports a fascia similar to the Honda PCX with a radical looking headlamp setup and clean lines throughout its body. Now the Honda Airblade 160 looks like a great product to have, especially if you’re looking to buy a maxi-scooter or something that’s more than a conventional scooter. However, it seems unlikely to be offered in India anytime soon.
