The world’s premier motorcycle lifestyle event will feature three-anniversary classes, a specialist four-wheel machine class, a selection of food and drink offerings, bike and gear demonstrations and an all-new personalization award presented in honor of the late Arlen Ness
Carmel, Calif. (February 24, 2022) – The Quail Motorcycle Gathering will return to the Quail Lodge & Golf Club in Carmel, Calif. on Saturday, May 14, 2022. The 12th annual event will feature five courses, food and drink. , product demonstrations from leading manufacturers and hands-on activities for all ages. Featured Classes This Year Include Harley-Davidson XR-750 Mini Bikes, Two-Stroke ‘Braaaps’ | BIG FUN and the BMW /5 Series. Additionally, an all-new non-motorcycle class featuring hot rods and classic cars has joined this year’s lineup.
The iconic Harley-Davidson XR-750 was the most dominant production race bike ever built and was ridden by greats like Mert Lawwill, Cal Rayborn and Jay Springsteen. He was made even more popular by world famous daredevil Evil Knievel.
Two-stroke motorcycles, both on-road and off-road, will help add a bit of nostalgia to onlookers. The two-stroke “Braaaps” exhibit will offer guests a glimpse into pre-mixed motorcycle history from the 1960s and 70s to the early 80s. Motocross bikes like the Yamaha YZ490 and Honda CR500 will be alongside from their road counterparts like the Yamaha RD350 and even the 500cc two-stroke MotoGP race bikes of the time.
Widely adored by a large number of enthusiasts and customizers, the BMW /5 series of motorcycles were the first entirely made in Berlin from 1970 to 1973 and featured electric start and telescopic forks.
New this year, the Quail Motorcycle Gathering welcomes Roland Sands, custom motorcycle builder and 2022 sports legend, who will present the Arlen Ness Memorial Award to a custom motorcycle builder honoring the late Ness.

As always, the show will take place on the pristine lawns of the Quail Lodge & Golf Club in Carmel, CA. Offering a variety of activities for people of all ages, patrons can indulge in a diverse menu of food trucks and motorcycle lifestyle vendors. Children, families and even pets are welcome.
New for 2022, the Quail Motorcycle Gathering offers general public admission tickets only for $55, which includes parking and valet parking for those riding a motorcycle at the event. This year, The Quail is partnering with local food trucks offering a wide selection of food and beverages in the new concession pavilion. General admission + hospitality tickets are $90 and include lunch in a private seating area, featuring a buffet of culinary delights and non-alcoholic beverages.
