Four days of testing over the past week has seen Xavi Vierge see the progress made so far with the Honda WorldSBK.

The Spaniard has multiple chances of further testing still on the table after opting to race only in the afternoon sessions at the Jerez – Angel Nieto circuit on Tuesday and Wednesday, with the team already having completed laps in Portimao at the end of last week.
“I’m happy because we’ve made good progress throughout this test and compared to last week’s session,” Virgo explained of the pre-season work undertaken so far. “To be honest, having decided to test on just two afternoons, I started both days in the hottest conditions and struggled at first.
“We worked on new settings, and it took a bit of time to adapt to the different sensations, but we worked very well with the electronics, adjusting and refining the configuration until we found the way and that I was able to get my confidence back. We did some good long runs, with much better pace than last time we were here. I also did some practice starts, and there too we had takes a step forward.
“The work was intense, but I was able to do a lot of laps without any problems or delays, which allowed us to collect a lot of data. Now we have to analyze everything in view of the next test.
