Wisconsin Harley-Davidson Honor Ride for Memorial Day

Memorial Day celebrations are officially underway – kicking off with a special motorcycle ride out of Oconomowoc.

Wisconsin Harley-Davidson pays tribute to veterans.

“This weekend is really about remembering those who fell in love with our country,” said Theo Williams.

Williams bravely served from 1990 to 1996. On Saturday, he rode with the Combat Vets Association.

“It gives us that brotherhood that a lot of veterans lack,” Williams said.

Wisconsin Harley-Davidson wants its annual Honor Run to not only honor those who have served, but to remind everyone what bikers do in the community.

“It’s not just about the motorcycles. It’s what they do in the community. What they give back. We want to break that stigma of how someone can see a motorcyclist,” said said Smith.

After some light refreshments, dozens of bikes headed to the Wisconsin War Memorial to pay their respects — and to remember why they’re free to ride.

“Remember those who gave to those who gave their lives for our freedom and to be able to grill and have a fun time on the weekends,” Williams said.
