Yamaha and Kawasaki have officially confirmed their WorldSBK 2022 launch dates, with all three taking place next month.
Honda has become the first manufacturer to announce the launch of its 2022 bike with the HRC team unveiling its CBR1000RR-R Fireblade on February 15.
Kawasaki, which is currently testing at Portimao alongside Yamaha and Ducati, will be the next factory team to unveil its 2022 ZX-10RR on March 23.
Pata Yamaha and GRT Yamaha will then follow by presenting their R1 bikes on March 25 and 26, the same two days as the Catalunya WorldSBK test.
The only manufacturers that have yet to confirm 2022 launch dates for their bikes are Ducati and BMW.
With GRT Yamaha announcing their launch date, this means riders Garrett Gerloff and Kohta Nozane are part of the only “satellite” team to have an official date confirmed so far.
Pata Yamaha’s bike presentation will see World Champion Toprak Razgatlioglu present the No. 1 plate for the first time. While six-time world champion Jonathan Rea will return to #65 for the first time since 2015.
While Razgatlioglu and Rea will participate in at least two tests before the official presentation of their team, the only Superbike test organized by Dorna will take place at the beginning of April in Aragon (4-5), before the start of the season in the same place. three days later (8-10).
For reigning world champion Razgatlioglu, the pre-season test schedule, as well as all the tests planned by the team during the season, will not be his only tests this year as Monster team principal.
