Yamaha R15-based XSR155 gets new color for 2021

Yamaha XSR 155 new color launched in Thailand

– Remains mechanically unchanged

Yamaha will launch the similar FZ X in India

As part of the 2021 update, Yamaha introduced a new gray color scheme for the XSR 155 in Thailand. This new paint scheme is slightly different from the old black, gray, and white-red color options. It sports a bold “XSR155” sticker on the gray fuel tank, as opposed to the “Yamaha” sticker on older colors. It also gets white under the seat panels which adds a bit more coolness than the black unit. In addition, the ribbed pattern seat gets a beige finish.

The XSR 155 is based on Yamaha’s hugely popular YZF R15 V3, as both share a common engine and frame. Interestingly, the bike is extremely popular among Indian riders who want it to come to India as evidenced by the relentless inquiries we receive about its launch in India. With this demand in mind, Yamaha developed the India-specific FZ X which achieves a similar styling but is based on the cheaper FZ FI. Besides the introduction of a new paint scheme, the 2021 Yamaha XSR 155 remained unchanged in Thailand. A 155cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine with VVA (variable valve actuation) that produces 18.7 hp and 14.7 Nm stands at its peripheral frame. It is mated to a six-speed gearbox with a slip clutch. It rides on 17-inch alloy rims which are suspended by inverted forks and a mono-shock while braking is handled by a single disc at both ends.
